gnormalize

Version : 0.52
Website : http://gnormalize.sourceforge.net/
Architecture : all

gnormalize is a GTK2 frontend to various audio utilities that takes input from and audio file or an audio cd, converts the input to wav and optionally performs normalization on that wav file and generates output by converting the wav file back to any of the supported formats. gnormalize can therefore be used as a CD ripper, audio file converter and a normalizer. It also supports playback of Audio CDs.

gnormalize

gnormalize supports MP3, MP4 (M4A or AAC), MPC (MPP or MP+ - Musepack), OGG Vorbis, APE (Monkey's audio), FLAC and WAV as both, input and output formats. The input may furthermore be an audio cd. The formats that are actually available depends on the audio utilities installed on your system. To use the full functionality of gnormalize you will need to aquire some audio utilities from sources other than the Debian archive.

Gnormalize is also a metadata tag (e.g. ID3) editor. It furthermore preserves the tags during normalization and even converts them when converting audio files to other formats. Metadata for audio cds may be fetched from a CDDB server.
